Chicago’s defense carried them to a win over Philadelphia and kept them in the driver’s seat for the wild card playoff spot with 7 weeks left in the season. They allowed only 124 yards of net offense, sacking Philadelphia quarterback Chuck Fusina 11 times for a loss of 74 yards. The offense provided just enough scoring to secure the win. They face New Jersey next week.
Philadelphia’s offense, averaging over 24 points a game over the last four games ran into a buzz saw in this one. Even though Fusina threw a late touchdown to avoid the shutout, they mustered almost nothing on the offensive side of the ball. The game would have gotten them a game closer to the playoff spot. They get another chance against struggling Arizona in Week 12.
