Philadelphia opened their season with a close win against Memphis. Quarterback Chuck Fusina threw for three of the Stars’ 5 touchdowns. Running back Kelvin Bryant added the other two. Philadelphias defense held strong. Memphis needed a miracle to tie the game. But, the defense stepped up again and got an interception to close it out.
Memphis almost got that miracle at the end of the game. They scored a touchdown with just under two minutes to go. Then, they recovered and onside kick. But it wasn’t meant to be on this particular Sunday. Still, Memphis proved themselves to possibly be a force this season.
