Gamblers Dominate Outlaws in Regular Season Finale

The Houston Gamblers capped off a stellar regular season with a commanding 23-0 victory over the Oklahoma Outlaws in Week 18. Running back Sam Harrell led the charge, tallying 106 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries, earning him MVP honors. Houston’s defense was relentless, forcing four turnovers and sacking Oklahoma quarterback Rick Johnson five times, ensuring the Outlaws never found their rhythm.

Houston struck early with a 43-yard field goal from Toni Fritsch and a 19-yard touchdown run by Harrell to establish a 10-0 lead in the first quarter. The Gamblers’ defense smothered Oklahoma, intercepting Johnson twice in the first half, while the Outlaws’ only scoring opportunity—a late second-quarter field goal—missed wide. Houston’s offense continued to methodically wear down their opponents, with Harrell’s second touchdown and two more Fritsch field goals putting the game out of reach.

Despite their best efforts, the Outlaws’ offense couldn’t muster a response. Rick Johnson was harassed all game, finishing with four interceptions and just 194 yards on 19 completions. Houston’s secondary shone, highlighted by interceptions from Welton Myers and Willie Lewis. With the win, the Gamblers secure momentum heading into the playoffs as the top seed, while Oklahoma closes a challenging season on a sour note.
