San Antonio Gunslingers 13, Houston Gamblers 30

Houston Gamblers Dominate San Antonio in Week 15 Victory

The Houston Gamblers cemented their dominance over the San Antonio Gunslingers with a 30-13 victory at the Astrodome in Week 15. The Gamblers, led by Jim Kelly, started strong and maintained control throughout the game. Kelly threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns, with wide receiver Richard Johnson emerging as the star of the day. Johnson caught both of Kelly’s touchdown passes and amassed 160 receiving yards on 12 receptions, consistently carving up the Gunslingers’ secondary.

San Antonio struggled to find offensive rhythm early on, with turnovers and missed opportunities stifling their progress. The Gunslingers’ only first-half points came from a 50-yard field goal by Nick Mike-Mayer just before halftime. While their defense managed to intercept Kelly twice, they couldn’t capitalize on those takeaways. Running back George Works led the San Antonio ground game with 68 yards on 11 carries, but the team failed to sustain drives or find the end zone until late in the fourth quarter.

Houston’s balanced attack and relentless defense ensured their dominance. Running backs Todd Fowler and Sam Harrell each scored on the ground, while kicker Tony Miller added a 49-yard field goal to cap the scoring for the Gamblers. San Antonio’s lone touchdown came from a 67-yard bomb by Rick Neuheisel to Michael McDade in the closing minutes. Despite the late score, it was too little, too late for the Gunslingers, as the Gamblers improved to 13-2 and solidified their position as a league powerhouse.
