Michigan Panthers 28, New Jersey Generals 32

The New Jersey Generals overcame a 28-10 deficit to secure a thrilling 32-28 comeback victory over the Michigan Panthers at Giants Stadium. Michigan started strong with quarterback Bobby Hebert delivering two long touchdown passes—one a 30-yarder to Anthony Allen and another an 87-yard bomb to Derek Holloway, giving them a 14-7 lead after one quarter. Hebert continued to excel, finding Holloway again for a 25-yard touchdown in the second quarter to put the Panthers up 21-7 at halftime.

The Generals fought back in the second half, led by Doug Flutie, who connected on key passes, including a 16-yard touchdown to Maurice Carthon. Herschel Walker added a 5-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter, but it was Jerry Holmes’ 32-yard fumble return for a touchdown that swung momentum. After a missed opportunity, Michigan’s Hebert threw a costly interception, and Walker’s late score sealed the victory for New Jersey.

Doug Flutie earned MVP honors with 260 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Walker contributed 111 yards on the ground. The win improved New Jersey to 7-2-1, while Michigan dropped to 3-7, despite Hebert’s impressive 298 passing yards and three touchdowns.
