Pittsburgh Maulers 26, Las Vegas Ace 10

The Pittsburgh Maulers improved to 5-3 with a steady 26-10 victory over the winless Las Vegas Ace at Sam Boyd Stadium. Pittsburgh controlled the game from the start, with running back Mike Rozier leading the way, rushing for 144 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Quarterback Brian Sipe added another touchdown on a 4-yard run, while kicker Steve Jordan was reliable, hitting four field goals, including a 51-yarder. Despite several missed opportunities, the Maulers’ defense forced six turnovers to keep Las Vegas at bay.

Las Vegas struggled throughout the contest, unable to generate consistent offensive momentum. Quarterback Jerry Golsteyn threw for 270 yards and a late touchdown to Ted Hollern, but he was intercepted four times, with Pittsburgh’s defense swarming the Ace’s passing game. Running back Alvin Ragsdale was a bright spot, gaining 32 yards on the ground and contributing 61 receiving yards, but his efforts weren’t enough to lift Las Vegas, who now fall to 0-8 on the season.

Pittsburgh’s defense was relentless, with linebacker Mark Harper and safety Mike McKibb each grabbing key interceptions. Sam Clancy also had a standout performance with a sack and multiple quarterback hurries, helping the Maulers stifle any comeback attempts. With this win, Pittsburgh remains in the playoff hunt, while Las Vegas continues their search for their first victory of the season.
