New Orleans Brass 20, Chicago Blitz 45

The Chicago Blitz continued their strong start to the season with a commanding 45-20 victory over the winless New Orleans Brass at Soldier Field. New Orleans struck first with a pair of touchdown passes from Rusty Hilger to Jamie Wisham, giving them a 14-10 lead late in the first quarter. However, Chicago quickly turned the tide with a pick-six from linebacker Gary Allen, followed by three unanswered touchdowns to take a 31-14 lead into halftime.

Chicago quarterback Greg Landry was the star of the game, earning MVP honors with 292 passing yards and two touchdowns, both to different receivers. Running back Tim Spencer also had an outstanding performance, rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown, helping the Blitz dominate on the ground with a total of 157 rushing yards. The Blitz’s defense added to the scoreline with two interception returns for touchdowns, including a 33-yard pick-six by Frank Minnifield in the fourth quarter, putting the game out of reach.

Despite Hilger’s efforts, finishing with 316 passing yards and three touchdowns, the Brass were undone by four interceptions and an inconsistent running game. Chicago’s defense stifled New Orleans’ offense, forcing critical turnovers and keeping the pressure on throughout the game. The Blitz improve to 4-1, solidifying their place atop the standings, while the Brass fall to 0-5, still searching for their first win of the season.
