Arizona Wranglers 13, Oakland Invaders 37

The Oakland Invaders cruised to a commanding 37-13 victory over the Arizona Wranglers on Monday night at Oakland-Alameda Coliseum. The Invaders, led by quarterback Craig Sundberg and running back John Williams, overcame an early deadlock to take control of the game with a balanced offensive attack and a stifling defense. Oakland scored 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach and secure their second win of the season.

Arizona managed to tie the game at 10-10 in the second quarter after Vince Evans connected with Bee Lang on a 26-yard touchdown pass, followed by a field goal from Luis Zendejas. However, Oakland quickly regained the lead with Sundberg’s 8-yard touchdown pass to Shawn Faulkner before halftime. The Wranglers struggled to find any offensive rhythm in the second half, hampered by turnovers and a relentless Oakland defense that forced five total turnovers in the game.

The Invaders’ ground game, powered by Williams’ 101 rushing yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns, wore down the Arizona defense. Oakland dominated time of possession, holding the ball for nearly 38 minutes and converting eight third downs. With this victory, Oakland improved to 2-1 on the season, while Arizona fell to 1-2, still searching for consistency on both sides of the ball.
