New Jersey Generals Edge Out Boston Breakers in Low-Scoring Affair
In a defensive battle at Giants Stadium, the New Jersey Generals narrowly defeated the Boston Breakers by a score of 13-6. Herschel Walker was named MVP for his dominant performance, rushing for 184 yards on 36 carries.
The first half was a defensive struggle, with both teams exchanging field goals. Boston held a slight 6-3 lead at halftime. The turning point came in the third quarter when Walker found the endzone on a four-yard run, giving the Generals a 13-6 advantage.
Despite a valiant effort by the Breakers’ defense, they were unable to generate enough offense to overcome the Generals’ lead. New Jersey’s defense was stout, forcing two turnovers and limiting Boston to just 183 total yards.
