New Jersey Generals 27, Washington Federals 17

New Jersey continued their hot play. They defeated Washington 27-17. Everyone on the offense got into the act. Running backs Maurice Carthon and Herschel Walker both scored. Quarterback Brian Sipe added a touchdown pass of his own.

Washington continues to struggle after a good start. In spite of gaining nearly the same on offense as New Jersey, they turned the ball over four times. Starting quarterback Craig Hohensee threw three interceptions. His replacement, Reggie Collier, threw two touchdowns in an attempted rally that ultimately fell short.
