Jacksonville got their first win of their existence at home against the New Jersey Generals on Sunday afternoon. The Bulls built a 27-0 lead. Robert Mahfouz led the team to that lead by throwing two touchdowns in the first half. Running back Willie McClendon added another touchdown early in the second to pad the lead.
New Jersey’s woes continue. In spite of picking up veteran quarterback Brian Sipe, it took the offense far too long to get started. Even, then, it barely did. Herschel Walker ran for only 82 yards and Sipe threw two interceptions agains only one touchdown.
