San Antonio shocked the league Monday night. Some people thought Houston might just be unbeatable this year. However, led by quarterback Rick Neuheisel and his 4 touchdown passes and 1 touchdown run, the Gunslingers out scored the Gamblers. The Gunslingers defense may have given the rest of the league a blueprint to slow down this Kelly Gun offense.
After gaining over 700 yards the previous week, they managed less than 400 this time. Quarterback Jim Kelly threw only two touchdown passes against two interceptions. The run game wasn’t much help, gaining only 130 yards between the three backs that carried the ball.
