Michigan edged Chicago in what’s easily the best rivalry in the USFL right now. After going undefeated in the regular season and getting bounced in the playoffs by the Blitz last year, Michigan gets some measure of revenge. In addition, the win runs their regular season win streak to 19.
Chicago led after a seasaw battle by scoring on a 12 yard score by Kevin Long with 3 minutes left. Michigan took back the lead on a touchdown pass by Bobby Hebert. A fumble on the very next play doomed Chicago to the loss. Michigan tacked on a last minute field goal just to turn the screws that much more.
