In their first ever game, San Antonio gave their home fans something to cheer about. After a 40-28 thrashing of the Boston Breakers, spirits are high in San Antonio. The Gunslingers ran all over the Breakers, gaining almost 250 yards of offense on the ground and scoring 3 touchdowns. On defense, they held Boston to less than 300 yards of total offense.
Considering the offseason drama in Beantown, the Breakers can be commended for the game. Boston put up a good fight. Quarterback Johnny Walton threw for two touchdowns and the run game added two more. The Gunslingers proved to be too much for them, though, and it wasn’t enough.
