Philadelphia Stars 21, New Jersey Generals 7

Philadelphia routed New Jersey to keep pace with the division leading breakers. The win also kept their slim and dwindling playoff hopes alive. Behind a strong running performance, 259 yards and 3 touchdowns, the Stars kept the ball for over 2/3 of the game to grind out the win over New Jersey.

With starting quarterback Bobby Scott out, the offense leaned heavily on Herschel Walker. Walker scored the only touchdown of the game for New Jersey on a long pass, but struggled on the ground. He gained only 33 yards rushing and fellow back Maurice Carthon led the team. However, he gained only 39 yards.
