Philadelphia Stars 27, Tampa Bay Bandits 13

Philadelphia kept their playoff and east division hopes alive by defeating Tampa Bay Saturday afternoon. In spite of being outgained in yardage and first downs, the Stars doubled up Tampa 27-13. Philadelphia was led by a defense that forced three turnovers, including a fumble return for a touchdown, and a running attack that gained 227 yards.

Tampa Bay’s frustrating season continues. Now 3-6 and in last place in their division, they face a potentially devastating second half of the season. Maybe they turn things around, but more likely they’re already looking forward to the offseason and what 1984 brings.
