Philadelphia Stars 25, Oakland Invaders 7

Philadelphia rolled to an easy victory over the Invaders to get back into the win column and try to keep pace with the division leading Boston Breakers. Running back Kelvin Bryant scored the only touchdown for Philadelphia. Kicker David Trout added 6 additional field goals.

Quarterback Fred Besana provided some hope for Oakland with a touchdown pass to Gordon Banks in the third quarter. But, Philadelphia’s defense kept them scoreless the rest of the way to seal the win. Both teams have big games next week. Philadelphia plays Boston with hopes of gaining bragging rights in the east. Oakland tries to get back into the win column against Birmingham.
