Bobby Heber led the Michigan Panthers to a 7-0 start and sole possession of first place in the Central division with a convincing 17-7 win over the New Jersey Generals. The Panthers amassed over 400 yards of total offense while holding the Generals to less than 200. Hebert tossed two touchdown short touchdown passes to insure the victory.
His counterpart, Bobby Scott, completed only 5 total passes in the game for 66 yards and threw two interceptions. Herschel Walker ran for 101 yards, but the Panthers kept him out of the end zone. Michigan will try to put some more distance between them and Chicago next year. The Generals play the Federals at home.
