Michigan defeated Denver in an exciting Monday night game to continue their unbeaten streak. Quarterback Bobby Hebert led the Panthers with 3 touchdown passes. The Michigan defense, for their part, held the opposing quarterback to 100 yards passing.
That quarterback, Ken Johnson, threw a touchdown in the closing minutes to cut the deficit to two. Despite another drive in the final two minutes, they turned the ball over on downs and the game ended 23-21. Denver hosts Tampa Bay next week while Michigan takes on New Jersey.
