Tampa Bay Bandits 7, Philadelphia Stars 28

Philadelphia ran all over Tampa Bay, scoring three rushing touchdowns on 189 yards rushing. Quarterback Chuck Fusina managed less than 100 yards passing, allowing the run game to carry the team to an even 2-2 record and staying 1 game back of division leading Boston.

The Philadelphia defense held Tampa’s back up quarterbacks in check, intercepting Jimmy Jordan twice and holding third stringer Mike Kelley to only one completion on seven attempts. They also recovered 3 fumbles by the Tampa Bay offense. Starter John Reaves should be back in a few weeks, so they only need to stay afloat for that long to keep any hopes of chasing down a playoff spot alive.
