Arizona Wranglers 16, Birmingham Stallions 10

The Arizona Wranglers got their first win of the season, defeating the Birmingham Stallions, 16-10, in the only Saturday game of week 4. Both defenses played well when they needed to. In spite of the offenses gaining over 300 yards each, they held the teams to under twenty points each. Arizona quarterback Alan Risher connected with Calvin Murray for the winning score halfway through the overtime period.

Birmingham kept pace with their run game, gaining over 200 yards on the ground. Bobby Lane opened the scoring with a pass to Earl Gant late in the first quarter. They managed only a Scott Norwood field goal the rest of the game. So, after their first win against Philadelphia last week looked like they might change their fates, it’s back to square one for the Stallions next week.
