The LA Express continued their winning ways by winning the first overtime game in USFL history, 20-14 over division foe Arizona. Mike Rae tossed two touchdown passes, including the game winner in overtime. Running back LaRue Harrington added 100 yards rushing on offense.
Alan Risher matched Rae with two touchdowns and Steve Howell ran for 88 yards to keep the Wranglers competitive in a must win game. However, unable to overcome the LA defense, led by Eric Scoggins and his 3 sacks and one interception, they remain winless on the season.
